In its aim to support the region's artisan sector, last November it presented the MIMA Aragon Crafts Chamber Program (Modernization, Innovation and Improvement of the Competitiveness of Crafts); an ambitious proposal to support and raise the profile of crafts.

A significant economic sector that is also a standard-bearer of traditional production techniques and that, on many occasions, suffers unfair competition from products from other countries that contribute little or no added value compared to the Aragonese artisan product.

Behind the MIMA Aragon Crafts Program, the Government of Aragon aims to give a major boost to the sector, make all the region's artisans visible, and bring to light those producers or small businesses that are not yet registered in the artisans' census but that make handcrafted products and deserve special attention, while also focusing on improving the competitiveness of Aragonese crafts through innovation.
