"Mas la Llum Crafts" by Marta Fernández
"Mas la Llum Crafts" by Marta Fernández
Crafts made with sheep's wool from local shepherds, of breeds: Rasa Aragonesa, Maellana, Ojinegra de Teruel and Roya Bilbilitana.
...The project involves the artisanal process of transforming wool, from selecting fleeces during shearing to carding, cleaning, and combing. From the clean, carded wool, household textiles, personal care items, and accessories are crafted using wet felting and needle felting techniques. The project's mission is to promote and utilize rural resources, specifically the sheep's wool from local shepherds, through crafts, natural products, the revival of traditions, the creation of intergenerational connections, and educational opportunities.
Conducting workshops, training sessions, and outreach to raise awareness of the properties and uses of sheep's wool, as well as transmitting local traditions and knowledge. Organizing fairs and craft demonstrations. Promoter and founder of the "Obellas, Wool in Motion" project, which connects several women from the Matarraña region with the use of wool.
